The Chartreuse de la Part-Dieu was founded in 1307 by the family of the Counts of Gruyère. Occupied by the Carthusian order until 1848, it was then secularised and abandoned for more than 8 years. In 1871, the Clavel family acquired the property and set about preserving this protected historic site.

La Part-Dieu is privately owned and is open from time to time for various events. More information is available on the Part-Dieu website.
